Laula Hey, I just finished my antenatal classes last week. Most of them were really nice. We had three evening classes and the kind of group decided the agenda. We had to write the questions / things we wanted to know about bit large sheet of paper and the classes were kind of measure around that. My evening classes cover all stages of the work and how to deal with information about all different kinds of pain relief available. We also had a visit to the midwife unit that was brilliant. There were group tasks where men and women were spit at and had say what makes a good birth partner, they were a good laugh and got all the ladies talking which was good. Unfortunately, the second class was a bit intense as there was a question and answer session as part of it rather boring and someone asked a million and one questions on statistics, by example, what percentage of women that you have to come here that episiotomy / c-sections, etc. – I mean, what's the point? These statistics will not change experience of the birth! The last class we were given information about the developmental stages of baby's first months and c-sections (yikes!). There were still two classes during the day. One was a workshop of breastfeeding was only women and was the best for honest – it was very informative and helpful and all the girls really had a chance to talk and get to know each other. The latter was a physiotherapy class that gave us exercises to prevent back pain, sleeping positions and let us try a variety of positions to help delivery of work on balls, mats, etc. I am really sorry that my classes are finished, they were cool! I hope you you enjoy too! xxx
